What is Information Technology Law

Information Technology law (IT Law) assistance is required by anyone in the IT industry, whether you are a software developer or distributor or the user or end client.

IT law is the legal framework for collecting,  storing and using electronic information. It covers (amongst other things):

  • providing IT services, such as:
    • developing an application;
    • developing software; or
    • developing a website.
  • Data security and data breaches;
  • Privacy laws (Australian and global);
  • Intellectual Property; and
  • Service levels.

IT law also covers information technology agreements such as:

  • Software as a Service;
  • Master Services Agreements;
  • Maintenance and Operation Agreements; and
  • Service Level Agreements.
